Eva Longoria with hubby Tony Parker and “Desperate Housewives” co-star Nicollette Sheridan share a love for poker.

You know something is big when even the biggest celebrities and sports stars are into it. And in this case I’m talking about poker, of course. There’s “Celebrity Poker Showdown”, which has had a fairly successful run on TV for a few years now…and let’s not forget about all the celebrity charity poker tournaments that go down in Vegas on a monthly basis.

Well, the latest news out of Hollywood is that even when they’re working — girls just wanna have fun! It seems that “Desperate Housewives” stars Eva Longoria and Nicollette Sheridan have been known to play poker rather regularly (and proficiently!) on-set. A source close to the popular TV series tells me that Longoria is the better of the two poker players…and seeing as how she did throw hubby (and San Antonio Spurs point guard) Tony Parker a birthday party that included a mini-poker tournament (with a $300 buy-in!!) I’m going to believe the rumor. (Insiders tell me that Parker’s built himself a sweet poker room in his new San Antonio digs!) But you have to wonder how busy these girls are if they have time to break away from their scenes to break into a game of No Limit Texas Hold’em.

Ah well…practice makes perfect! And if these two girls are learning how to perfect their game then all the power to them!
